A nice area. A few years ago a group of us rode the Trough of Bowland along a small very twisty road with my brother leading. He used to do Vintage\Classic and Manx GP racing. Most exhilarating.
I second both of the above choices with a slight preference for the vr1. Most modern formulations have too much of the good stuff removed to protect emissions system and are not good for flat tappet engines. This includes standard castrol gtx.
