A nice area. A few years ago a group of us rode the Trough of Bowland along a small very twisty road with my brother leading. He used to do Vintage\Classic and Manx GP racing. Most exhilarating.:D

I second both of the above choices with a slight preference for the vr1. Most modern formulations have too much of the good stuff removed to protect emissions system and are not good for flat tappet engines. This includes standard castrol gtx. Classic is intended for older style motors. If you want to spend days studying oil check out https://bobistheoilguy.com and its forum.

Thanks guys looks like it’s vr1 then , if it can do a nascar ,it can keep me chugging along down a country lane I’m sure .

Oil ,don't mention the oil.

My favorite is Johnstons, baby oil ,a gallon or so gently warmed and added into a rubber dingy and off you go.
Perfect.

I think my bike has decided to get in on the chat and has kindly dumped a big puddle on my workshop floor so I can take a closer look:oops:
