Great period photo just appeared on Facebook with the following caption:
My father and mother on what my father always called ”the HRD” sometime just after the War. The DVLA has no record so I think the bike is long gone. But if anyone knows differently I’d be delighted to know. It’s a 1936 Meteor and broke the conrod big end eye sometime during the War. My father welded the conrod up ground it out and replaced the rollers with a floating bush as he explained to me “Like a Royal Enfield” simply because he couldn’t get the rollers during the War. New big end pin too. I still have the spares he made at the time. Pays to be an engineer.... WS 5313.
