Ha ha, that reminds me of a story I need to tell..... I was down in WA. state at one of the swap meets years and years ago and guess who I run into ? Dave Eady of the Seattle Cossacks. Anyways, we're talking and he say's he wants to show me something on his bike. He's got his old Big Twin Flathead Harley down there with him. He says do I see anything unusual, and after looking for a few seconds I point out that there are two petcocks on the one right side gas tank. He says good and pulls out a little shot glass, aims it under the petcock and turns it on and out pours an amber fluid. He says "check it out !" I take a whiff and then take a sip. It's Bourbon ! One more for the road I says Please ! Anyways, true story. And, what a Great Guy <3I don't drink Coffee while riding, that would be silly because it could spill and damage the tank and possibly burn my private parts, I only drink Guinness whilst riding because it has no adverse effects on the paintwork.
I have used Ultimate bike paint in Keynsham, not a classic specialist, but will do all sorts. Is anyone aware of a good petrol tank sprayer near the Bristol/Bath area please?
hi Kerry , C & G Finnishes ,01515597917 , Vincent paint specialists since 1953 , contact owner , JerryCould anyone recommend a good petrol tank sprayer and how much, anyone had one done lately please ? Kerry.
My experience with Vincent tanks is limited to series D but wouldn't there be a problem fitting a C tank with clearance for the rear carb, it being on the left and normally a Monobloc? Those are much wider than the 'D' UFM so a tank which will clear a B/C will certainly clear a 'D'.
