I have my fathers 1953 Rapide..I have owned it since about 1986 and every time I take it out for a run it reminds me of him. You will never regret keeping it - nor will your children, when, in the fullness of time you pass it on to them.

thanks for all the replys. i have to admit i am much happier that the matter is closed and the bike is staying. for now at least. i will be continuing with getting the bike as my dad always intended. when its finished i may have to re negoiate keeping it for the family but that will be a while off yet.
