The grease/EP80 route is better because the plugs which seal the layshaft and gear change can and do leak
. Even the Miller's stuff creeps out past the plugs. Yuo should try to seal these by running in a suitable grade of Locktite. Or make up some alloy plugs to do the job properly. This is my personal opinion based on finding a pool of oil under the Comet.
