Has anyone any good tips to remove Wellseal from gaskets ? I know it says on the packet thin with
Tricoethelene but this stuff is worse than using Wellseal. Alan

Try WD40, they claim miracles for it and it might just work, when I was wiping the excess off my engine I think I used Jizer.


If you go to your auto parts store, there is a paste wax that removes road tar and doesn't harm paint, that works pretty good , cant remember the name at the moment , getting old is a bitch, but far better then not.:)

But don't try to wipe excess Wellseal off paint with thinners....Don't ask:eek::oops:..I forgot what rag I picked up..
Panel wipe doesn't remove paint..John

meths/methylated spirits/methyl alcohol, DO NOT DRINK IT, removes wellseal without damaging powder coat or two pack paint.

Thanks for all your replys,was it not meths that removed the president of the Coop Bank,I will give it a try.

They used to call meths. "White Lightning " over here. Sometime in the 60's they re-formulated it with an emetic to stop the problem of resolute and purposeful ingestion.
