The current (March) issue of Classic Bike comes with an A0 poster of a Vincent twin engine in large sub-assemblies. Makes it worth the cover price - for once!

I make you right, first c b i've bought! thanks Len!

Pleased you liked it! Took ages to set up and the photographer's equipment cost more than a Twin at current prices! Just been reading my copy (which I had to buy-no freebie) and noticed one or two factual errors which the experienced Vincent owner will spot. Not my fault, I was not responsible for the text.

very impressive, first a video from a vincent specialist, now a magazine article. strikes me it's about time for the "how to make it all work" or was the object to increase the work load for those who can(will) take advantage of the fools who rush in?-or is it just me being suspicious (or my strange sense of humour)

No Roy, there was no intention of trying to drum up work by collaborating with CB. Their objective was to show their readers what goes on inside a Twin engine and Mick Duckworth's write up was, in the main, pretty accurate.

I think there is a tad too much cynicism here. The DVD from Bob Dunn was instructive and, knowing the waiting time (except for friends and family) there was little incentive to sign up. I haven't seen the CB issue yet as Australia is 2 years and 2 months removed from the rest of the world (!) but I would guess it is more instructive and intriguing than anything else. I mean, how many people approached the owner of the Top Gear Black Shadow to make a silly offer???????

I noticed that the "liners are pressed into the muffs"...

(I'm reading this thread backwards...)

I didn't think of it as a "how-to", but I was impressed at how well the sub-assemblies were laid out, and how simple and straightforward it made the motor look. The internals weren't much like mine though, mine being a Black Shadow both externally and internally...

I particularly like the valve gear in bits vs the valve gear assembled, a model of clarity. I confess I didn't notice your name in there Len, but I congratulate you on a super piece of work. The text was OK too, no "Black Widow" myth-spinning, but it's a pity there isn't less focus generally on "125 mph top speeds", and more on the fact that this motor can reasonably be expected to do 50,000+ miles with only routine maintenance (IMHO the real testament to PEI and PCV's creation), and is perfectly capable of cruising all day at motorway speeds 60 years on.

Just managed to get hold of a copy - very good - but who said it was A0 ?? Only just bigger than A2, so slight disappointment !!
