Just happened to notice, as I would normally never watch this, a Vincent on an American show called "Quantum Leap" !
It was a scene outside a bar where a bady was abusing the bar owners sons bike, a Vincent no less !! No reference was made in the dialogue to it being a Vincent, it was just being ragged by doing donuts in the dirt !!
The Vincent itself seems to be a bit of a hybrid, polished cases, Lightening style pipes, deep flanged alloy rims etc.
I managed to find a link to this :-

http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_48136-Vincent-1000-Rapide-1949.html

The Vincent is seen for maybe 20 or 30 seconds only.
Of course now I'm going to find out that everyone has seen it and knows who's Vincent it is, the background to it's appearance etc, etc ! :)

That was Dick Busby's hot rod Vincent. I think Dick was also the stunt rider. Dick and Haig Altounian worked together restoring a lot of show winning Vincents in Los Angeles. I used to live just a few miles from Dick's garage, it was a great place to hang out on Saturday afternoons.
