Jack Williams(father of Peter Williams Norton factory rider) walked me to Ted Hampshires office Ted handed me a rack of plug thread taps and drawings took me to a bench covered in black enameled cycle parts he then told me the time you have removed the enamel from all the threaded holes you will remember all the different threads on a Vincent

not guilty. in the machine shop there was two jigs one for front and one for rear heads so how could it be. a fellow apprentice John Surtees ran a two spark head on his flash?

66 years to day I reported to C J Williams at the Vincent HRD company for my first day of employment.

David,
I think we would all be interested to hear any background to life in the works that you could offer. The UK then and now are so far apart and the changes so stark it could not be other than recording history.
