I thought some people have told us 8 mm , Not 6 mm ?.
And you have to fit a filter to it ?,
feked.com sell the filters.

Sorry 1/4 is the thread.

I have had some ones from the UK kindly shipped here by a good friend. You can tap the intake side and screw the feked filter right in them, works a treat

Take one of the nice old school brass ones of your Grannies gas fire!
She will never notice having no sense of smell a proper win win situation...

Is this the filter? What thread is the tap that you use?

https://www.feked.com/fuel-tap-filter-replacement-petrol-tap-filter.html
That is the filter and here is the tap.

Yes the thread under the comp fitting is 1/4 BSP. If the thread in your tank is good you can make a very thin 1/4 BSP nut and then "lock" the tap in place to orient it to the desirable position.

I take a little black paint and paint the little yellow plastic insert black so they don't become obvious

As for the filter, yes that is the one I use and I generally tap holes with the tap that fits.

OK, so you made me go and get one out . I even put a thread gauge on it for you Bruce. We are only talking about 3 threads here so something close will do. plastic threads do have their benefits!

The note on my bag of them says tap 3/8 UNF (24 TPI) but I tried them in 3/8 BSC (26 TPI) and they fit that with exactly the same feel!
