As non-uk member I have a question.... I have the following details of a bike, found at an enquiry at https://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/app/enquiry?execution=e1s1.
But does this mean the registration mark is still usable?
Date of Liability07 11 1996
Date of First Registration08 05 1951
Year of ManufactureNot Available
Cylinder Capacity (cc)500cc
CO2 EmissionsNot Available
Fuel TypePETROL
Export MarkerN
Vehicle StatusUnlicensed
Vehicle ColourGREY
Vehicle Type ApprovalNot Available
This vehicle can be licensed at a DVLA Local Office without the V5C Registration Certificate

The colour GREY? It is just a Comet, nothing Flash except the colour...

It would look like it, but you may need to take the bike to a DVLA office to prove that it is the correct vehicle, the next problem may be that once they know it exists, it will have to be taxed or SORNed.
You may be able to claim the registration number but put it on retention, but I think there is a regular fee payable for that.

Any Vehicle not used since end 97 does not need to be sorned unless its taxed or has other details altered
