Valve Timing on a Series D Twin

When all the timing marks are aligned on a series D with mark 3 cams (as indicated in Paul Richardson Fig 56 - timing markings, 1000cc models ), whats the position of the crankshaft relative to TDC front cylinder

I believe the diagram is for the rear piston at TDC.
