valve guides

Kettlrj if you have the old guides and the cast iron I could make some for you, how far away from LOOE are you as I could do them as you wait. Or give my "A" twin a good run as it's laid idle since returning from NZ.
Cast iron is the material to use, but the dimensions are such that there is sufficient wall thickness to machine the lower end of the guide to fit a quad seal on the inlet guide. I think having the seal at the lower end keeps lubrication above seal where it is required. can be a fiddly job unless one has a collet headstock on the lathe.

Not on an "A" but my "B" Rapide heads had cast iron guides when I got the basket case and they still have the same guides fitted 50,000 miles later. I have the Spares Co guide seal kit fitted. Works well.
