Ted Davis Memorys reprint, It was Jack (Jack Williams) who in his capacity as Works Manager at Vincents, was visited by the local police one winters day in 1949 and informed of a man, believed to be a vincent employee , who has a brand new Black Lightning in his bedroom , obliviously stolen! a solemn Jack gave to extra puffs on his pipe before enquiring the fellows name, the policeman produced his notebook and pronounced that it was a Mr T Davis residing at Cromer Mill,upon which Jack's face and pipe lit up Oh thats alright he said , we know all about him - he always builds his bike in his bedroom

And he sold me a Comet engine and gearbox, With all the fittings for £45, So I could build another "Box of Bits "!! Those were the days, Cheers Bill.

I was in the UK Last year I saw a Comet engine and gearbox for sale not 45 pounds 4,500 pounds Ted would have been a million heir ?
