Trouble is the inside of the caps are not all the same,
So you still need to be careful.

I used to cut the hex off with a Dremel Tool using a cut off disc and then grind a slot in the top for a screwdriver.

only found a problem when the race has been called and i need to check the tappets just need a good appreciation of where the valves are. 99% of the time if one gets caught the other will be free
