A great idea! I think I'll try it with Allen screws which will make it even easier to fit. Thanks!

That is what I arrived at too with Allen headed set screws.:cool: (Enjoying the sun in Gozo at the moment.)
Tank bolt spacer & tie rod
I always use a piece of alloy bar (round or hex) just wide enough to take a 1/4 BSF tapped hole both ends then add a short 1/4 BSF hex set screw & washer each end lighter and narrower especially if you have jacked the rear up one rubber FT172/1

The one i've made up is a piece of 1/4 s/s tube with a 1/4 s/s body washer at each end, then a 6mm stud through with a s/s body washer and nyloc's on the outside.
