Yup -defo over guesstimating here, having had that last lesson -being overtly cautious, likely 400-500 sounds much better than what I've got...cheap enough to change out thankfully.

as Magnetoman outlined, the air passage constriction affects the size of main jet, reduces its effectiveness as indicated... just before I drill it out want to be sure of size. Seen pics somewhere of someone doing this?

Remotes Bill -
have double banjo, can open them up a little, seen SU and Amal versions...so you'd remove float, Vitron needle valve in main carb body, and run tube to base of bowl from remote I'm assuming.
Fuel height and angle more critical?

Those 2 are not the ones we mean,
I said before I don't think the double feeds are needed,
Some of us used the ones off a mini car.

Tried to find the Video of Bill Cannons Egli running Gardners,
And I think mini S.U.s, but no luck .

A remote float can be fitted on the F106 and alter the height as you need.

As I said before, After you have fitted new piston etc,
You don't want to be running full throttle ?,
I am thinking 1/4 to half is what you want to be thinking of,
Which will give you plenty of speed,
Just my thoughts .

Just to know I'm on the right track, drill out air constriction to same bore along whole length of the channel for 4 stroke application if not done?

112 needle jet (upped from 106),
Yes, drill the entire length. The constriction only should be there for 2-stroke use.

As for a 112 needle jet, NO! It will be way too rich. A 4-stroke engine that has absolutely perfect jetting with a 0.106" needle jet will be noticeably rich when that jet wears to 0.1065", and will run horribly by the time it wears to 0.107".

Your engine isn't all that much larger than a 500cc engine, so I strongly suggest starting with values appropriate for a 500cc engine and making small adjustments to those as you proceed with testing.

Magic Bill, How did you find that Video, I spent hours :) ,
I hoped you would bite the Carrot :).

My early Square ones, Like yours, Ticked over better than the later ones,
So that lever was ignition timing ?,
Sounds good to me.
Many thanks Bill.

Wow! Some ingenious stuff on that stunning machine of yours Bill -what a beauty...I'm utterly happy with singles, but if I was ever to start thinking about twins...

Q's? What are those remotes on the Gardner's Bill -and what size are those puppies?

Top Job, Jez just picked me up on how to flood that setup,
Must admit I never thought of it when I did my Comet, Never needed it !,
Must have been a bit rich, Which I like.
But Jez needs flooding to start his 800 cc.
So another problem solved :) .
Many Thanks.
