FT: Frame (Twin) Spring Claw

In the absence of a Brass Claw for the Rear Spring Boxes I wondered if this " Top Hat / Locator " would work.
In my opinion the Claw just holds the Spring central in the tube ,which is what this plug is doing.
I cannot see the Spring reducing in diameter on compression but the plug may suffer some rubbing over time.
The one shown is an experiment and as such is turned out of Nylatron ( Delrin 66 I think )
Any comments would be welcome - either good or bad !

I can't comment on the strength/suitability of Delrin but you should consider that the spring was designed to be anchored at both ends so the Delrin will not only be subjected to compression but also tension when on rebound.
(Bruce's post popped up as I am writing this so I think we are both thinking about the same thing.)

Thanks for all your comments and have since sourced a Brass claw.

The tension / compression would be cured by making an extra long eye bolt threaded right to the end of the plug maybe some 2 1/2 inch long.

Anyway just an idea.
