Hi, can anyone recommend a reliable painter for my tank and metalwork - Touring Comet. Anywhere in the Northumberland area, I don't mind travelling to get a really good reliable job, say 100 miles or so. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks.

I can't tell of any one local, maybe you should seek-out an old time signwriter, he will be able to do the gold leaf lining, and be able to point you towards a painter who is good enough for him to work with. Be lucky and report according.

Hi Mike,

This chap is not local to us but you could give him a phone: http://www.classicmotorcyclepaintwork.com/ He has painted Vincents, before, has an extensive gallery and has templates for pin lining and transfer positioning. Lots of testimonials too. If you were anxious about couriering the tanks and metalwork, he may be able to make some recommendations for someone more local. I have a couple of friends in the Velocette owners club and VMCC, I could ask them for suggestions too, if you are in no rush. Cheers. ;)

Hi Mike,

I have just put a few parts into Matsar Coatings and have heard they are good from a VMCC friend, however, they work from an anonymous looking building, not even a sign out side! They were formerly known as Northumbria Specialist Coatings and are based in Cramlington. I am having some stuff powder coated and some stuff wet painted, I will let you know if they have done a good job. I am expecting that back early this coming week. I don't know about tanks but my friend has have them paint some frames etc. He is very particular and seems happy. Good value too.
