I am asking for documentation or maybe even an understanding of the numbers code on the face of Smiths Speedos.
It is the /N or /L suffix on the Smiths part number such as S.433/3/L or S.433/3/N.
Anybody know this please?

Smiths internal documentation states S.433/3/L for Rapide, Comet, Grey Flash speedometers.

Specification AB:

A means 3" Chronometric, 120 mph, 180 KPH, 1600 r.p. miles, 1000 r. p. Kilos, Trip

B means Chromium Bezel, Black Dial, Internal Lighting

Hi David, You are exactly correct. (maybe not the 33, but i understand). I too have the Smiths sheets on this subject, but the unknown is the suffix extension meaning /L and /N

Craig,

I had too many threes in the draft, I took one too few out! Corrected now. I think Ted Davis published the details in MPH many years ago.
