Here are some pictures of the D setup.
Like Garry, I have a D. Rather than get into a complicated discussion, go to WhitakerPedia where you will find a comprehensive guide to fitting the stand properly to your C. Youve got most of it and you need some parts and, it's not worth botching itHi
I have a Series D stand on my C Rapide and when operated, the linkage bolt catches on the LH rear brake arm.
Also there’s hardly any clearance between the top of the brake arm and the cable support (pic).
I think it’s always done it judging by the wear on the brake arm.
Just wondering if anybody has one f these stands fitted.
Any help appreciated.
I have a Series B with a D stand. The first thing I noticed in the OP was the photo with the horn on the LHS. There is no way I could mount a horn there with this set-up. My D stand was made in South Australia and came with new footrest brackets etc. It really was a "plug and play" but the horn had to be moved to the RHS.In use now for over twenty years and no problems at all. Where did your stand come from?
Its not from a D, hered what the originals look like. Sorry about the exhaust side, not easy to get a good shot. Not sure where the stand came from. Possibly from the VOC Spares Company
in the early nineties or Conway Motors who restored the bike,.
I think the stand was fitted after the restoration.
I have a bracket here that’s been taken off, I assume for the D stand.
Its a bit confusing but in the MO drawings for the D, the majority of the stand is MO 90 whilst the exhaust side plate is shown on MO35Its not from a D, hered what the originals look like. Sorry about the exhaust side, not easy to get a good shot.
The bracket is a standard "C" Right hand foot rest bracket. Not sure where the stand came from. Possibly from the VOC Spares Company
