Misc: Everything Else Series D seat hinge

Hello All, im wanting some info and photos if possible of the seat hinge for an open D series.
Restoring my late fathers bike and it has what looks like an ordinary door hinge welded and cobbled to fit.
It works but has a lot of side to side wobble.
Not what i think the factory would have come up with.

Hi Loco, I have an enclosed D (Prince) I could send photo's of mine, it also has some wiggle. I had the same issue and was told to fit a cupboard door catch to lock it in place which is simple on a Prince but not sure on an open 'D' you may have to fabricate a bracket to fit a catch on to.

I'll take a picture of mine later today and post it.

As to the catch at the back of the seat, I cut two pieces of 3/4" ID black poly water pipe, cut a longitudinal slice out of them so as to slip over the subframe and riveted them to the underside of the seat. Then I glued strips of rubber over the rivets so they wouldn't scratch the frame. Been that way for a few years. Not your Concours solution, for sure.

I’ll send a photo of the hinge tomorrow but in the meantime the rear of an open D sear was held in place with a spring catch on either side of the underside of the seat and clipped around the horizontal tubes of the rear frame.
The front hinges were always lacking in sideways stability
