G: Gearbox (Twin) Series B gear levers.

I've been given a series B gear lever to sell on ebay on behalf of a friend.
Comparing it to the one I have in my garage, I see that they are different. One is straight and longer, the other is cranked and smaller.
I didn't realise that there were different types.
Yet another thing for the originality fiends to fret over?

There were 2 Series B near me which I knew well, both had the straight type, the lower one in the second picture.
I don't know out of my head how Lennert's gear lever looks like, maybe he can add something to the conversation as well. .
The top one also has less leverage between the pivot and the ball joint attachment, which results in even more necessary foot tilting to change gear.
Regarding this aspect I doubt it will be a nice gearchange with the top lever.

Yes, I think you are right. If you overlay one over the other you can see how it was done. Doesn't answer the question - why would you? Must have been a good idea at the time.
