Following a year or two in the doldrums (some would say ever since the late, great Bob Stafford passed away), Brian Werrett @A Nut and Peter Barker @A_HRD have just stepped-up, jointly, to the Section Organiser position – in order to put the 1935–1939 Series ‘A’ machines back in the limelight again – where they justifiably belong.

Both Brian and Peter encourage technical questions and discussion on this, the Club's excellent online forum website. Brian and Peter both visit this forum on a daily basis and are regular contributors.

Either Brian or Peter (or both) will answer your queries to the best of their knowledge – and anyone else with an alternative opinion or information/experience can add their views. Don’t forget to do a ‘search' when on the online forum website, as your question may already have been covered! If you would prefer to e-mail us personally, outside of the forum website, then feel free to e-mail HERE.

Sources of Information
In addition to the above, we would highly recommend that you purchase a copy of the A4-size book Back to 'A' from The VOC Spares Company Limited where you will find a wealth of exclusively Series 'A' historical information (400 pages!) and some up-to-date comments, photographs and diagrams too.

Paul Richardson’s Vincent Motorcycles also has a section on Series 'A's.

At a later date, we remain hopeful that we can become custodians of the wealth of information and dimensioned sketches that Bob Stafford produced and amassed over the decades. That being the case, we’ll let you know in due course what is there and how you can share in its content if you have a genuine need – keep an eye on MPH.

However, although we can likely tell you what year your bike was manufactured, please be aware that the subject of Series ‘A’ Frame/Engine Numbers remains the sole responsibility of the Machine Registrar – Simon Dinsdale (also a knowledgeable Series ‘A' owner). E-mail Simon HERE.

Rallies and Meets
In the meantime, we are planning annual Series ‘A' Meets which will use various locations around the country. For this year (2022), we are in discussions with Paul Adams, the new Series 'D' Section Organiser with a view to combining with that elite group – likely to be at the Sammy Miller Museum. We will also remain mindful of any ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, as required.

There has never been a better time to get your Series ‘A’ bike or bits out from under the bench and join in the fun. So we hope to hear from you soon and meet-up, in due course, at various events.

A warm welcome from the joint Series ‘A’ Section Organisers…
Brian Werrett. Tel: 07780 934 096.
Peter Barker. Tel: 07779 329 060.
