I'm looking to purchase new hollow wheel spindles for my A. In spares there are metric and imperial? Also front and rear, I am lead to believe that these wheels are interchangeable? If that's correct then surely both are the same? I require enlightenment please. Thanks all in advance.

Andy,
Imperial for starters.
The original A hollow axles are two plain tubes. [one is a spacer] Not the shouldered type that we are used to seeing on post-war wheels.
They then introduced the shouldered type ['36?] H15/1. Much simpler. As far as I can see the post-war Imperial H15/1 is what you need front and back.
Bear in mind they originally used bearings W5413. [Obsolete] As I recall these were slightly wider than the ones available today.
All should become clear on pages 27-31 when your "Back to A" arrives.
cheers,
Delboy.
