Im just checking over a 37 Comet with BD type Oil Pump before recommissioning.
I previously had issues with a 37 Meteor as the Pressure Relief Spring OP11 was too short & preventing Oil return to the tank, as this was about 8 years ago I contacted the great Bob Stafford who asked me to measure the length of the spring, it was 1 3/4" long.He confirmed it was short & sent me his last spare from a batch he had made, this was 2 1/4".See Photo attached & notes.
I have checked the spring in the Comet pump as part of preliminary checks & see it is 1 3/4".(I believe the club stocks this length of spring)
So I guess my question is does anyone know the length of springs fitted to their BD pump & is there a suppliers of these springs that are 2 1/4"
