Search Issue

I received the following message after searching for 'FT109/13':

"The following words were not included in your search because they are too short, too long, or too common: 13"

It seems the logic considers the slash as a space, for some reason, and thinks there are two words. Can this be fixed, or is it a "feature" of the software that we're stuck with?

Unfortunately, that is how the MySQL search function works.

It's not something that we can change from within our forum software.

Enter your search string enclosed in quotes. This worked for me, and yielded these results, with no warning about any words being too short. It’s still not perfect, as it does not take the whole string literally as most search engines would, but it might help to some degree.
