One question we may never know the answer to: how many sauce pan 5" speedos had the early style face design? The John Edgar bike is a relatively early B Shadow, it did come equipped with a sauce pan speedo, but it has the later style face design. Here is a photo of the face from 1B/696 (photo credit Somer Hooker) showing the earlier face design, and then two pictures of the John Edgar bike (from the Jerry Hatfield book on Rollie Free) showing it had a sauce pan case, but the revised design face.
