What is the part number of the part which ist clamped on the angled gearbox on the Timing cover? It is driven by the rev. drive dog on the ignition shaft. Erik

The one shown is the bronze bodied older type, I would think most people would use the later alloy type which has proper bearings inside.

I have a Smiths gearbox here surplus to requirement which came with one of my bikes and is bronze body. It was in a box of NOS parts and certainly doesn't look used and feels really smooth when rotated by hand. 2:1 ratio.
Look at the body shape that is slightly different to the one Chris posted, but agrees with the MO sketches and the diagram in Know Thy Beast.

Pat number on it is X70549/1 which agrees with Smiths list for Black Lightning fitting.

Anyone have a picture of an RC115 with the stated red section 6200-8000rpm as well as being yellow print scale?

In fact any Smiths chronometric rev counter with a red segment.
