Replacing Magneto pinion?

Thanks Ossie did 1. although cannot remove bobweights done 2 and 3 although cannot remove rivets due to bobweights. Does the actual baseplate come off the centre part? That seems to be the problem although it is very tight so wouls rather take advice before attacking it with brute force.

yes it does.
you will end up with the base that the fibre gear is riveted to.
the ring that the rivets go through to hold the gear on
the top part that moves backwards and forwards between the ears and the ring that is pressed to this part.
and all the bob weight bits
the ring will come off by supporting it on the gear and carefully drifting the centre bit out.
had three apart so far no problems.

It may be quicker but then I'd end up with less money in my pocket and i wouldn't have learn't anything.
