ET: Engine (Twin) Reading the tea leaves

Hi guys. Anyone have this stamping on the right side of the case just above where the timing attaches? This is on a C rapide.

I've not seen this before and it looks to be hand stamped due to the different angles and spacing.

I agree on the hand stamped, but the letter stamps look a bit more official than what seen. Not the usual caricatures.

The only stamping on right side case either my Shadow or Comet are the case matching number/letters. I agree with druridge, either a previous owner's initials or tuner perhaps in the vein as Francis Beart or Steve Lancefield. L N R... Like New Rapide may be a rebuilder?

From what I`ve seen of some, it could mean `Liner Not Required`.

Yes I thought that maybe the first owner's initials too. I was delivered to San Fancisco originally and the letters don't look like the letters I've seen in the states. Hence the inquiry. Don't know the first owners name but have a trail going back to the mid 60s.

Interesting. I presume the cylinder liners? Is it a stamping you've seen before. The caricatures look like miniatures of the letter stamps of the case halves.

Goldstar case stamped the same way?

Look at the numbers to the right of the engine number.

Maybe a dealership in San Francisco as the Rapide was stamped the same.

Hmmm.
