A slight redesign for the mk2 would use a longer stay from the rear top sidecar lug to below the swinging arm casting of the RFM.
This would have a spacer on the stud below the RFM, two shorter spacers on the rear sidecar lug and a spaced stud through where all four box sections cross.

I see some great ideas, Thanks for all.
Does anyone have a support for sale, rent, or loan in the USA?

I am kinda liking my idea for wood and steel straps.

Here is how I pull a Vincent engine either Comet, Rapide, Shadow.
I have done this many times with the help of a Handy Lift fitted with a clamping front wheel vise.

In Craigs picture the hydraulic jacks can be dispensed with by putting a piece of wood between the upright of the RFM and the back of the battery carrier. Cheers, Stu.

Once the Comet or Twin engine is out, I am left with the split chassis on the work bench as pictured.
Sure, I have rolled each of these assemblies away, but very cumbersome and cosmetically dangerous.

This fixture would allow reconnect and "rolling chassis".

I have started designing one in my head and envisage two triangular plates that go in place of the rear spring boxes but also pick up the sidecar mounting as well, this would eliminate one joint, all that would be needed then is to tie the UFM to the RFM somewhere.

These pics are of a set made by Garry Nemecek Many of these are used in the old Victorian section and work well Garry has many Vincents and had made this set with changeable ends to suit different head stocks
