1946 3-19 = 16 Vincents
1947 20-400 =380 Vincents
1948 401-1400 = 999 Vincents
1949 1401- 4980 = 3579 Vincents
1950 4981-5730 = 749 Vincents
1951 5731-8250 = 2519 Vincents
1952 8251-9570 = 1319 Vincents
1953 9571-10,000 = 429 Vincents
1954 10,001- 10,300 = 299 Vincents
1955 10,301- 10,587 = 286 C Vincents
1955 10588 -11,134 = 546 D Vincents

11,121 Vincents total from this listing of engine numbers

Maybe my resources are wrong, but something doesnt seem right about the 1949/1950 production listings for engine numbers.

My 1st august reg 1950 series c rapide engine no is 3000.
rear frame no is 1900
so where does my bike fit in above.
as far as i know my twin is a matched set.

exactly my point, but isnt your engine number F10AB/1/3000 and this seems high enough to be a C series Vincent.
A C series Vincent is distinquished by it's chassis, not by Bramptons or Girdraulics, and stamped RCXXXX both UFM and RFM, with added C indicating C series.
But your rear frame R1900 or is it something different? I dont believe this would be considered a matched set as the frame in this era (1949-50) would be 1900 added to engine number 3000 or RC4900.

Yes I got some choice bits from him
they seemed expensive then but in reality his supply ran out before the real boom in prices

You forgot to add 1 for each group. If you have objects numbered from 1 to 100, that is one hundred objects, not 99. So, for example, 401 - 1400 is 1000, not 999, or count from 3 to 19 on your fingers, it is 17 objects, not 16. The number of objects from x to y is (y - x) + 1. So the total number of objects that are numbered from 3 to 11,134 is 11,132.
