Must admit I thought folk have had too much aggression of late although I've been in search for information on how I can make a fly wheel assembly from a Comet with three connecting rods on the same plain with out making it wider as I want to make a three cylinder engine as someone did a photoshop version a while ago, I do have the machinery to do it with a fine precision turntable and will involve a lot of welding but I have sufficient aluminium billet and six spare Comet engines.
Any clever people out there !! ??
What about 10 cylinders in 2 plains? See

Hi Marcus
The solution to your 3 cylinder Vincent is quite simple and easily done, a master rod and 2 link rods, Think nearly 1/2 a radial engine.

Or if you don't mind a little off-set, three forked rods interlaced, so if you have 6 bearing tracks 1 and 4 are one rod, 2 and 5 another and 3 and 6 the third, this would entail a twin width crank though.

Well one in the standard comet position, one in the rear twin position and one would be somewhere below where the timed breather is now.
