Fitting a long velocity stack or ram tube boosts torque in the lower range and up into the mid range , this can assist usable power ,
So desirable in the Comet motor . Does the same in a twin times two . These work better without a filter screen and having a smooth flaring out on its end . Really a welcome improvement .
A free flowing muffler like a Burgess glas PAC or Toga of the same unobstructed central passage of AT LEAST 1and 1/2 inch , larger is better , a full 1and 5/8s is excellent . But usually louder . Note the. Need for an increase in main jet size .

More on mufflers and noise . Our 600. In street trim uses a competition type SuperTrapp , very light and with a 2 inch through passage and very effective glas PAC core . These were designed for the Harley flat track racers and are a brilliant piece of kit . Has a full 2 inch Main pipe end to end . Has a very pleasant deep tone . Two on a set of Lightning 2 inch pipes would be smashing . Sid .

If any one desires to see this setup on our race single just ask . It's 2 inch up pipe is 42 inches in length and the SuperTrapp described is a perfect choice . Sid .

Well Sid, it looks interesting. I do not know how tall your son is but the rear set foot rests suggest that he is quite a long sort of chap while the pillion foot rests look as though they are there for show only, or very occasional use. The long vertical support for the rear of the exhaust pipe, just before it enters the silencer, looks like it might fatigue unless it is made of very thick material. Can you tell us why you went for that style of exhaust system? At the end of the day it is more important how it goes and how long it lasts and although it is nice to see a Vincent in its original form I have never felt the need to try to keep them all looking standard. It is always intersting to see someone else's take on a well prepared Vin.

Only rearsets are fitted , no pillion equipment . The tricky bit was to eliminate the rear fended hinged section and nicely yet integrate the license bracket and rear stand parking arrangement . I love the BL fender lengths and style and refused to lose that look . Every piece added for legal road work is lighter than stock , makes for a serious look and better handling .
This is far lighter too than normal road equipment , my aim . This is one of my seat looks , very light , the other is seen on the other shot . Have built several . This thin version mates well with the reduced depth tank , together a serious weight reduction , aimed at a lowered CG for greater agility . Really light handling results . Sees off twins on back roads effortlessly , all functions , brakes etc more effective and cruses easily well over the ton , damn smooth doing it too . No kidding .
Recently fitted a big Gardner carb , seems even stronger . Sid .

The pipe is by Colin Taylor , thin wall and very light . A full 2 inches ID and it alone is 42 inches long . The same diameter is carried right through the muffler . No end plates fitted just a dress plate with the same size hole . 2 inch all the way . Very strong running with a great deep voice . The support strut is doubled in thickness , two plates , seems up to the job the ST being quite light , their race version , thinner gauge body . Sid .

More . A retaining spring keeps a pull on it up on the pipe , as there is on the head pipe , pulling up towards the head .
The use of an Atlas box and clutch is a huge upgrade too . Sid .
