Phil Irving Notebook

At Montlhery in 1952 Vincents set a number of records. I understand that, at the time, Phil Irving kept a notebook with technical details of the bikes relative to those attempts.

Can anyone throw some light on the notebook? Where is it now?

Those are from 1936.

Like I said, Irving was in Australia in 1952. Ted Davis, john Surtees (17 years old!) were at Montlhery.

I dont think there was ever an action shot of the Supercharged HRD as it was soon sidelined after TT practice (If I am wrong we shall soon see one:)) However I have used the available paddock shots to make an artists impression of what it could have looked like when Mr Williams did get it 'on song'.

Yes that's it Bruce. My link didn't go to the correct page! Some of these entries do refer to PEI's post war activities including the record attempts at Jabbeke in 1948.
