If Derek is burning rubber well up the quarter mile, why isn't there any smoke coming off the soles of his boots?
I used to live near Santa Pod, and Pegasus was one of the bikes I always watched out for.
We often got in for free if we went late, though some of the gatemen carried shotguns. Great days.
Nothing could beat the spectacle of the Michigan Madman in full flight though!

Regarding EJ Potter . He often showed up where we were dragging to do his 4 demo runs and afterwards watched us run our bike . Great guy . Told me he had run a Vincent too in his earlier days and still loved em . Still have a few shots of him running , He would leave four black streaks the length the quarter mile strip , would vanish in the smoke , only the top of his helmet visable . Sid .

Any body know what Pegasus did for a best time ? I saw it a few times, Loved that outside Flywheel, It seemed to give him so much umph off the line, I lost touch with sprinting, When I did more road racing, Cheers Bill.
