Part number 30

I have a quick question on a part, specifically part number 30, a 3/8 inch long grub screw. Were on the bike is this used? I can't remember ever seeing this screw on the engine. It looks like a plug of some sort. I assume it is of some importance and of course it is sitting on the work bench and not in the bike. Cheers, Dan

You do not say what the thread is but it sounds like a blanking plug, either for the top rear of the timing cover or the bottom of the crankcase. There are oil galleries at both locations which need to be blanked off. Cheers

Thanks for the answers. It was at the bottom of the crankcase, timing side. I have no idea why or when I took this off. The forum comes through again. Thanks again, Dan
