Is your ignition the one called the Dolphin ignition? From your description it sounds like that type.

That does ring a bell. Pretty sure that's it although it doesn't have any markings.

I found some photos of the Dolphin twin point system posted by David Dunfey.
The Dolphin system has the points mounted on the Timing side whereas my system has the points mounted on the primary side of the engine. It does not appear to be a Dolphin ignition then.
