oil leak

My twin has an oil leak from the small screw which goes into the timing side crankcase vertically upwards adjacent to a crankcase stud.

I haven't tried to remove it yet but does anyone know what it is there for, presumably blanking an oilway, and should it come out easily?

Hello Bill, Someone on the Forum asked a short time ago , "How far in should it go ". It will come out easy, But don't screw it in too far or it will block another hole off, Ron and me took one out the other day, For cleaning, It should go in just below the surface and the case punch locked, Funny thing was we had a new one from the Spares Company, And instead of a slotted screw, In was an allen head !!, Don't know how we can punchlock that !, So we put the old one back with some sealer. Cheers Bill.
