Have you measured your new sprocket Bob (and compared it to the old one) The DID chains (or any "new" chain for that matter) have substantially thicker side plates and longer pins than the old Reynolds chains. A standard 520 (none o-ring) should go between the crankcase and G50, but only if it´s running in the middle of the gap. As i mentioned before, mine wasn´t and this was due to the sprocket shoulder being shorter and running the whole plot closer to the crankcase. With the chain running central, it´s also perfectly in line with the rear sprocket (which is bloody amazing for a vincent!!!) (measured with a laser)
