Bruce, The Builder told me the whole Bike was Hard Slog !,
Just look at the Frame !, No down tubes !, So the Steering Head had to be much strengthened.
The rest is New, Cases etc.
The Builder is a Top BSA Man , Strokes Gold Stars !,
Very interesting to talk to, He rang me to buy my Old 1. 1/2" G.P. Carb'.
Another failed attempt to get my Blue Comet to go Faster :) ,
Said the New G.P.s are not as good as the old.
Sad thing was, After all that hard work and Money, He didn't like it !,
Said the steering was too heavy and His Wife didn't like it !.
Cheers Bill.

We had just the end plates of a super trap on the twin Egli racer (two pipes one each side) and 2" pipes on that version

Can't see the point of using a Featherbed frame and cut off the down tubes! Why not use an Egli frame in the first place? To my eyes this is a weird (like ugly) looking Norvin like JMR ones. Sorry Bill, no offense.

Which is a shame because there are a lot of nice bits on this machine. But the frame!!!

None taken Ericg, I feel the same as you, Just showing the exhaust to Rixon.
I feel a bit like that about Egli's, Why not use a "D" Frame ?, And have the mono shock rear, Which I prefer.
But I do like things that are a bit different.
Funny I went to a Vincent Rally once, And someone said there was no Vincents with a " Spine Frame " to give an award to, I thought well what the hell is a "D", We were standing next to mine !.
I said nothing :) .

I too prefer the full frame but I guess the builder was invoking the "frameless" element of the original Vincent and giving it his own twist, which surely is the whole purpose of the exercise. If all Specials were the same they wouldn't be special ;)
