I was going to say I had never had a problem !, But then remembered a few years ago,
The Hydraulic stop light switch on the rear brake of my Special shorted out, While I was kickstarting,
It was bolted to the RFM and as I sat on the Bike it touched something,
Being "D" coil, The battery started to go flat, It was always a good starter so Strange ,
When I got off the Bike it was OK,
It cost me a Battery though, Only £16, Lucky it didn't mess my old Mini type Alternator.

I bought a four fuse holder from Automotive Products and linked the fuse terminals together I put a large fuse (30A) in the position and fed the current into that one. The other three positions held smaller fuses, e.g. 25A, 15A, etc to protect lighting circuits etc. If there was a big problem the biggest fuse blew.

What is the model / number of that battery that you have put inside the dummy Exide box as it appears to fit perfectly. I'm assuming its 12V.
