Spotted this in Classic Bike this month -

Russell Hartley has set about improving Vincent Brakes by producing drums with deeper fins to aid cooling and making air scoops(inlet and outlet) for the brake plates. Call 01767 650049 or e-mail Russell.hartley@virgin.net

I would have thought that unless the brakes are prone to fade, increasing the depth of the fins on the drums and adding scoops to the brake plates is not going to improve the brakes. I have never experienced brake fade in the last 15 years since having modern linings fitted. I run Shadow drums and cast alloy brake plates without air/water scoops.
