Sorry if this is a well worn subject but I need to replace the mirrors on my Black shadow.Super glue is only a temporary fix for "the flops" ! I think I heard that a Ducati mirror is perfect. Are these generally the most popular ?
Thanks, Ian

Ian,

I use these, http://www.intobikes.co.uk/products...?rg=12&search=mirrors&sg=AND&sf=match&sd=DESC

And you'll need these to fit them, http://www.intobikes.co.uk/products...?rg=12&search=mirrors&sg=AND&sf=match&sd=DESC

They are not the cheapest, but are beautifully machined and made.

Often admired when I have been riding around. There is a cheaper imitation available from Motrax, but they do not fold. These fold against the bar and are perfect for popping the bike in the van.

Available in black or polished alloy.

Stable up to silly mph.

I've done 5000 miles with mine on the right, have just fitted one to the left for France.

I have also recently seen one of these fitted on a mate's Rapide - if you like the classic look then they look very nice indeed and he will make up anything special for you, http://classicpartsltd.com/classic-...cycle-mirrors/830-halcyon-bar-end-mirror.html

I bought several of these at an autojumble - they come with a plate to attach to a fairing, but I've adapted them to handlebar clip fitting with a couple of bits from old brake levers. They're very stable and don't add to the width.

Thanks BL, very nice . I like. Just to clarify (as both links appear to be identical), you have grip ons rather than secured through the handle bar ends ?
Best regards

I hate the wing-mirror position on the Shadow on the front-cover-picture of this months MPH. ;-)

Sorry Ian, my clumsy cut and paste - no, they do a thing called a "billet bar end adapter" which then goes into the end of the handlebar and expands with a wedge on a shaft, this leaves a small diameter channel outside the end of the bar to which you then fit the mirror.

Here you go, my bike with the mirror fitted from the Forum:

http://www.vincentownersclub.co.uk/...-from-this-years-manx-grand-prix-2010/cat/787

The end bar adapters are available seperately on that website.

CRC is the manufacturer from memory, you can see all their products on the web, they are based in California from memory and list worldwide distributors so you may find someone local to you.

http://www.constructorsrg.com/mirrors/hindsight.html

They don't show an Australian importer but if you struggle to get them from anywhere let me know and I can get them and post them to you in the UK.

I found them very helpful and they posted me some shouldered allen screws when I stripped one.

Hope that makes sense, I will have a look on the Forum and see if I can find a picture of my bike with the mirror.

Best of luck.

Stuart

MMMmmm. Sorry, I think some of these mirrors are form over function. I want to see more than my elbow or shoulder. I agree with Peter that the mirrors on the bike on the cover of July 2011 MPH are
not pretty (NOT that I have received said magazine yet!!!!!!!!!). My Stadium mirrors give a good view behind and to the side. Luckily I do not have osteo arthritis in my neck so I do check left and right before
committing to a lane change or turn. Those small round mirrors MUST give a limited rear view unless they are convex, in which case they are deadly!

Actually the view is pretty good, the line of sight in under your arm, and with one each side I have no problem viewing the road behind !!
