Ive recently received an Overhauled Miller Mag Dyno for my Series A single.I trusted this to an established advertiser in MPH (amongst other publications).
Turnaround time was 15 months and the attached photo's show the 'Overhauled' unit at a cost of around £400.

If nowt else this may save others the 'Difference of Opinion' that I shared with the specialist.

Be interested to hear what others think of the results....

Thats what happens when you send your Mag-Dyno to David Blunkett Magneto Services!! Not to worry you will have plenty of time to fettle the little rascal whilst waiting for your engine to be returned.
Aplogies readers a small North East England in house wind up.
Regards.
Vince.

Did you specify an electrical and/or cosmetic overhaul?
Most mag. repairers I’ve dealt with only do electrical work. To get them to do chrome, painting and polishing you would wait twice as long and pay twice as much for the pleasure.

For a 15 month delivery and £400 I would have expected a better job than that !!
I use a mag guy in the black country who charges £150 for a mag overhaul with vapour blasted casing , new armature , and most of the typical internal parts and it's done in 4 weeks max !!

Standard of Service

My past experience has been with Lucas mag-dynos.Ive had great service from Tony Cooper & wouldn't hesitate to recommend him,an overhaul would include cosmetic & mechanical unless otherwise requested.
unfortunately he doesn't do Miller units.
He certainly would not return a Mag Dyno in this condition not to mention the 'chewed' fasteners.
We live & learn.

It's a good job we have a sense of humour around here.....I'm off back into the garage to polish my end cap.

I'll second that.
