I am about to use a standard rotary shaft seal in there but I made my own pinion carrier which is 3/4" diameter so a standard seal fits. Another member told me that Norton wheel bearing felts are a perfect fit for the standard case.

I'm pretty sure I made up a washer from cork material.......you need to temporarily install the unit to the engine and check what gap you have first, as best you can anyway. Felt is not going to seal much at all........especially the stuff available nower days.
