After years of procrastination I am considering (note more pro-----) converting to 12volts with one of the systems that is out there, my thinking is that as the knees fail I will go over to button starting. At the excellent D meet on Sunday I spoke with two owners with McDouglators and they both spoke very highly of the unit and with the added bonus that it is unobtrusive, I have to say the prospect of the outer cover revolving at 8000rpm is a little scary but it is well out of the way so should be OK. I know John McDougal in Vancouver makes these units but as yet I have been unsuccessful in contacting him, is anyone in the UK in contact with John or have any information on how to get one. Downside, it is not cheap, in fact I think it is the most expensive of all the 12volt conversions. Any feedback would be much appreciated.
