lucas altette horn adjustment

Hi,
my 1951 altette horn has been standing since it was reconditioned a few years ago.
when i removed the domed headed centre nut there is an a slotted head "adjuster " screw.
the horn isn't dead ,it "clicks" when a battery is connected
i have tried turning the screw , but without success.
is Bob Parry, the horn man from walsall ,still in the club ...
or has anybody got any advice ....

the points inside, or contact breaker, needs to be cleaned: tub, bath, something like that

thanks guys
my "bad" horn measures 12ohms across the terminals, so i'm guessing the coil is ok,and a strip down is the next thing to do.
i'll let you know what i find
