Hi I bought this bike from a friend, who passed away about 5 years ago.
I am trying to piece together the history of this bike.
Reg. number is LPG682, it’s a 1950 Vincent Rapide.
The things I know, it’s a transition model, it spent some time in a warehouse before it was returned to the factory and changed from a HRD to a Vincent, it was sold, new, from a London dealership. My friend, Geoff Garnett, bought the bike in 1968 from Pennistone, for the princely sum of £75, from a fellow who worked at the David Brown factory. He used the bike regularly with many trips to the Isle of Man. Geoff laid it up in the late 1970’s, after which it came in to possession in 2016. I am trying to unearth any information on the bike in it’s earlier years .I would appreciate any information anyone could add.
